Our *new* kitchen is 10 years old now meaning, like you said, it’s a little out of date. meh! I could be wrong because this was long before I was interested in interior design. I recently read that quartz was king for 2020. Because if the counters are granite that look like marble, then there is no incongruence.BTW, in the first house I ever remodeled, I used marble for the limited counters I had. But I suspect that it depends on where you live, how much you have to spend, and who advertises on the website or magazine that features the article.
