I think the couple in "Vacancy" were fairly smart & atleast tried to fight back, the main woman in "You're Next" and a few others.

It seems as though Jane Doe has been brutally murdered, but her body shows little signs of torture. She has also managed to free her son, and given Danny good advice: Hide.
