Each bite was delicious with just the right textures. Ellie was terrific helping with the wine selection as my knowledge of Italian wines isn't deep. All told $100 per person for a meal I might expect from a Howard Johnson's .Great wine, great service, wonderful dinner toppled off with Lidda coming over to say hello.
Shame on you.Really nice atmosphere, but pretty expensive and I didn't love all of the foodWent here for lunch today.
They sat us in the back corner table upstairs. The service was subpar to say the least.
For the past 5 years, I have made it a point to go to Felidia. Last night was great.
Thank you Chef Fortunato and Team.Went here for a dinner for the first time last night and the food was amazing and very fresh ingredients. My friend's salmon was tiny and lonely and deserts were very disappointing. Not the best seat for making reservations months in advance for this special occasion. The home made pasta is always fresh, desserts are yummy and love that Felidia herself is usually around making sure all is well. Anything else to note about them right now? Are they offering takeout, delivery, or both? Michelin star notwithstanding, the food at this restaurant would be considered average at a good Italian restaurant in New York, our homebase. My father had been a fan of Lidia for years and I thought taking him here for his 74th birthday this past weekend would be special. All this and a table that wobbled. I prefer Italian food with character and flavor.
House smoked salmon, spaghetti w black truffles.
So glad we didn't pass on dessert; the signature tiramizzuca was delicious and satisfying. I will probably not go back.Classic NYC restaurant. Wow, this is my favorite Italian place in the city. We were there Saturday , 10-12-13 and, despite being a Saturday night, the service and the food were excellent....Wonderful fish and seafood, outstanding service, great wines, and not expensive compared to what you get. This was my second visit and, as with the first time, both the service and the food were wonderful.
Italian food is a reflection of a great and dynamic culture. I am not an…""First of all, I would definitely consider this place to be a "hidden gem." Felidia is the acclaimed Manhattan East Side flagship of Lidia Bastianich, open since 1981.
In New York, places like Felidia get Michelin stars.
I've walked by here a hundred times since it opened and had zero desire to go in. Executive Chef Fortunato Nicotra has been with Felidia since 1996 and has brought an innovative touch to traditional ingredients and dishes from all the regions of Italy.
""WOWWWWW.....I should never have walked into this place!
Also super fresh and flavorful Greek salad, vine ripened tomatoes is amazing. There is no kids menu but they would likely be glad to do a half portion of pasta or a relatively unadorned piece of fish. No chicken nuggets and no red sauce here.243 E 58th St Between 3rd and 2nd Avenues, New York City, NY 10022-1201Can a vegan person get a good meal at this restaurant? Can a vegetarian person get a good meal at this restaurant?Worthy of six stars, just perfect in every way,a must to visit again......We rank these hotels, restaurants, and attractions by balancing reviews from our members with how close they are to this location. Are dressy shorts allowed for men, being that the temperatures in NYC this weekend will be so hot? (The waiter had to keep leaning in and asking us to repeat what we said.) Opened in 1981 by Lidia Bastianich, Felidia offers a warm atmosphere where you can still find Lidia greeting guests and fans. Service is terrible and incredibly rushed (at least if you are two women ordering restaurant week menu). It is here that many of Lidia's devoted fans find her greeting each guest with the same warmth and passion that she exhibits… My friend and I recently ate at Felidia and loved our experience. The food is seasonal, well-prepared and the wine list is quite extensive.
Almost like most diners do not know so do what we can.
The food that we had hoped and expected to be mind blowing was bland, tasteless and cold.
What safety measures are they taking? I vowed to visit Felidia in New York. I will fix it." This restaurant is an americanized version of weird combinations of flavors and textures in the shell of italian food.
I am a big Becco fan! Not cheap, but definitely worth it. But I took a leap of faith based on the 80 reviews I saw -- and this place was amazing!!! Felidias is the first place we have been that didnt fling meat in our face and offer a limited meal. I would have rather have had a good calzone and salad. "Arguably one of the best octopus in town, paired with hummus and perfectly seasoned cappers and onions. What's not to like. while you are obviously eating ...and not even once "Is the food OK?
a Bronzino bordering on mush along with a pork chop utterly devoid of taste. Struggling to describe the entrees, how they were prepared and the exact ingredients.
