We were literally picking at the last morsels off the board to pass the time. Great place to eat. I haven't been in years, but I came here the other day to have lunch with my grandparents and was pleased to see it still holds up. Come taste a yummy meal at Black Dog. I had a delicious burger with a slightly toasted warm bun and my companion had a roasted veggie sandwich with bacon; both were...It was buzzing as usual on a Monday night - not too loud but lively. Desserts were amazing. I recommend the charcuterie board and ribs. The server didn't try to see if I wanted anything different. Our Patio is open Monday to Saturday, 12 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Despite that, staff were warm, helpful and accommodating... except for the manager, who was argumentative at the end of the meal when we mentioned what had happened. The wine selection was excellent.

Don’t miss the short ribs or the creme brûlée.I just left this place, I had ordered the Burger which was served cold took a bite or two and then told the server the food was no good. At this point in time I just wanted to leave, was very disappointed.

We arrived a few min before our reservation and the table wasn't ready, not that it mattered too much as it was...Excellent food, atmosphere and service. Dont leave without trying the sticky toffee pudding.Love this restaurant, it always has a warm and intimate atmosphere, and the owner always greets you at the door.

THe Roast Chicken so so tender and...We are visiting Manotick and friends recommended The Black Dog for lunch. Was surprised at how close it is to Ottawa. Black angus burger: the meat was dry and not juicy but the salad was ok.  Lamb pita: the pita was too hard to chew, the lamb was nicely seasoned. The food was great--I had a salmon burger and it was delicious. Only gave four stars because the service is a bit slow.Second visit and we did not have a good experience. Quaint eating area. Stopped in for lunch and I highly recommend. The service was not good, she only came took our order, did not even ask how the food was and she didn't even smile.The food was good, I had the shrimp salad and my friend had the gyro with sweet potatoes side. Garlic mashed was great and so is their special butter. Just make sure you make a reservation for the weekends. It didn't work and I couldn't even enjoy a glass of wine with my meal. I ordered a burger with bacon and cheese, and it was a standard, good burger (came with fries). Their Mussels are always perfect, and I've never had a disappointing main dish.Delicious! It was surprisingly busy for a Thursday afternoon around 2pm. The food is great! The service was excellent; every meal came out at the same time and was exactly as ordered;  the food was delicious as agreed by everyone.
