I haven't found a 5 Star worthy film but aside from a few minor items this is close. The theatrical version isn't probably really representative of Clive Baker's original vision and miss many points and sequences. My favourite horror movie of all time, one of my favourite fantasy movies of all time, and definitely one of my top ten favourite movies in general, Clive Barker's misunderstood masterpiece has never looked or sounded better!Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 22, 2019
Directed by Clive Barker. This is about My favorite from Barker. After watching once, I was slightly disappointed. LOVE THIS FILM.
Clive Barker added this gem to his fantasy horror collection and its inspired take on a mysterious tribe of outcasts is wonderfully relatable. From the man who brought us Hellraiser, it's Clive Barker's Nightbreed, or Cabal if you care about the original story's name.
A troubled young man is drawn to a mythical place called Midian where a variety of friendly monsters are hiding from humanity.
My final rating is about 5/10 for the theatrical but a strong 7/10 for the director's cut. Watch Now Multimedia horror maven Clive Barker followed the success of his feature directorial debut, Hellraiser, with this equally surreal effort, based on his novella Cabal.

There is a serial killer, then there is Boone who is seeking treatment for his insomnia and nightmares, then there is a story about the Nightbreed.
A troubled young man is drawn to a mythical place called Midian where a variety of friendly monsters are hiding from humanity. For years there has been mention of a longer ‘director’s cut’ and finally it is here courtesy of ARROW as usual.

If you are a fan of horror this is a must see! I like that it left some scenes to the horrific imagination when Decker visited the first family. Unfortunately, for decades I’ve been unable to deal with “Nightbreed”.
